On September 3, 2020, Italy passed Legislative decree No. 116, which states that “All packaging shall be appropriately labelled in accordance with the procedures laid down in the applicable UNI technical standards and in compliance with the decisions of the European Commission, in order to facilitate the collection, reuse, recovery and recycling of packaging, and to provide consumers with proper information on the final destination of packaging. Producers are also required to indicate the nature of the packaging materials used, on the basis of Commission Decision 97/129/EC.”
Due to the variety of types and sizes of its packaging, Masimo took a digital approach to fulfill its obligation, under the degree, to communicate the environmental labeling of its packaging.

All Masimo products sold in Italy need to comply with the new packaging regulation.
The packaging regulation has two different scenarios regarding the minimum label requirements, based on the packaging destination: B2B (professional) or B2C (consumer).

Per Article R541-173 of the French law AGEC, a producer is to communicate their French unique ID number to comply with the Extended Producer Responsibility (ERP) requirement.
